Open Access Policy

1. Introduction

The Journal of Economics, Governance and Sustainable Development (JEGSD) is committed to the free and unrestricted dissemination of scholarly research. The journal operates under a full open-access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription or payment barriers.

2. Open Access Statement

All articles published in JEGSD are made immediately available online upon publication. Readers are permitted to:

  • Read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles
  • Use the content for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided proper attribution is given

This policy supports the principles of open access and promotes the global exchange of knowledge.

3. Licensing Terms

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license:

This license permits:

  • Sharing — copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format
  • Adapting — remixing, transforming, and building upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use

Under the following conditions:

  • Proper credit must be given to the author(s) and the journal

  • Any changes made must be clearly indicated

4. Author Rights

Authors retain copyright of their work.

By publishing in JEGSD, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the work.

Authors are free to:

  • Share their published articles on personal or institutional websites
  • Deposit their work in institutional or subject repositories
  • Use their work in teaching, presentations, and future publications

5. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

JEGSD provides immediate and permanent open access to all published articles. Readers may access, read, download and share published content without paying subscription or access charges.

To support the costs of open-access publication, JEGSD applies a standard Article Processing Charge of USD 100 per accepted article to manuscripts submitted on or after 1 October 2026.

Manuscripts submitted before 1 October 2026 will remain subject to the APC policy communicated by the journal at the time of submission.

There is no manuscript submission fee. Authors may submit manuscripts for editorial screening and peer review without making any payment. The APC becomes payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication.

Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance and has no influence on editorial decisions or peer-review outcomes.

6. Archiving Policy

The journal ensures long-term preservation and accessibility of published content through:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
  • Institutional repositories
  • Author self-archiving

7. Access and Distribution

All articles are freely accessible without embargo. There are no restrictions on access, ensuring maximum visibility and citation potential.
