Article Processing Charges

The Journal of Economics, Governance and Sustainable Development (JEGSD) is an open-access journal committed to the wide and unrestricted dissemination of high-quality scholarly research. All published articles are freely and permanently accessible to readers without subscription or access charges.

To support the costs associated with editorial administration, peer-review coordination, manuscript production, digital publishing and long-term accessibility, JEGSD applies an Article Processing Charge (APC).

APC Amount

The standard Article Processing Charge is:

USD 100 per accepted article

The USD 100 APC applies to manuscripts submitted on or after 1 October 2026.

Manuscripts submitted before 1 October 2026 will remain subject to the APC policy communicated by the journal at the time of submission.

No Submission Fee

JEGSD does not charge a manuscript submission fee.

Authors may submit manuscripts for editorial screening and peer review without making any payment. The APC becomes payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.

What the APC Covers

The Article Processing Charge supports the following services:

  • Editorial administration and manuscript handling

  • Coordination of the double-blind peer-review process

  • Plagiarism and similarity screening

  • Copyediting and language review

  • Article formatting and publication production

  • DOI registration and metadata dissemination

  • Online publication and website hosting

  • Digital preservation and long-term accessibility

Payment Procedure

Authors should not make any payment when submitting a manuscript.

Following formal acceptance, the corresponding author will receive:

  • An official acceptance letter

  • An APC invoice or payment request

  • Approved payment instructions

  • A payment reference for the manuscript

Publication will proceed after the journal has confirmed receipt of the applicable APC.

Authors must use only payment instructions issued through an official JEGSD communication channel.

Editorial Independence

The payment of an APC does not guarantee manuscript acceptance and has no influence on editorial or peer-review decisions.

All manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of their originality, academic quality, methodological rigour, ethical compliance, scholarly contribution and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Editors and reviewers are not involved in the collection of APC payments, and financial considerations do not influence decisions concerning the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.

Refund Policy

Once an accepted manuscript has entered final publication production or has been published, the APC is non-refundable.

If JEGSD is unable to publish an accepted manuscript for reasons attributable to the journal, any APC already paid for that manuscript will be refunded.

No refund will be issued where publication cannot proceed because an author withdraws the manuscript after production has commenced, fails to comply with publication requirements, or breaches the journal’s ethical policies.
